-
The winners of the 1995 IOCCC have been selected.
The final round closed sometime around 4am PST on 22 Jan 1996.
Converging on the final round took some careful consideration.
It was particularly difficult to pick an overall winner this year.
We
wound up with too many entries in the final round.
We
felt we had too many entries to all give
awards to and thus a few had to go.
-
Landon Curt Noll
will present the winners at the
Usenix IOCCC BOF
(see below).
By tradition the
Usenix IOCCC BOF
is where the winners are first announced
so don't expect anything until then.
-
If
Landon
has access,
Landon
will attempt to notify the winners by EMail
while at Usenix.
But if for some reason EMail access is not possible, the winners will
have to wait until 28 Jan or 29 Jan.
-
Regardless of when the initial EMail notification is sent, the
preliminary writeup of the winners will be EMailed to the winners
sometime around 29 Jan.
The winners will be given the chance to comment on, correct the
hint files before final distribution.
The posting of the winners world wide will not occur until
after the winners have completed their review.
-
We will introduce a new procedure this year in the post announcement
process.
The names of the winners and a brief description of their entries
will be made available via a Web page sometime around 29 Jan.
We will keep this list in place until the winners make their
final pass on the writeup.
-
People often ask: How many people submitted winners?
The judges consumed a hand-span thick of standard laser printer paper.
To conserve paper, we printed 4 pages on a side.
That is about as far as we go to indicate how many entries we received.
